JRC taxi service

If you are officially invited to visit the IES for a meeting or a conference, we will arrange your transport from the neighbouring train stations or airports to the JRC in Ispra: preferably from Malpensa Terminals 1  or 2, Arona, Sesto Calende or Novara (I). If absolutely necessary we can also arrange for transport to and from Linate (I), Agno (CH) or the Lugano (CH) train station.

Private car

On the highway from Milan, follow the signs for Autostrada Laghi (A8) to Gallarate and Gravellona Toce (DO NOT follow the signs to Varese, but instead follow the signs Gallarate - Galattico), then take the exit at Sesto Calende.
Take the SS 394 towards Laveno - Luino. After 7 km, turn left at the traffic lights in Travedona - Monate.
Follow the signs "CCR Ispra" towards Cadrezzate and Ispra. This road will lead you straight to the JRC Ispra entrance.

Coming from Switzerland (San Gottardo or San Benardino), continue along the A2 and A9. After Saronno, take the A8 towards Gallarate/Varese. After taking the exit at Sesto Calende, take the SS 394 towards Laveno - Luino.
After 7 km, turn left at the traffic lights in Travedona - Monate.
Follow the signs "CCR Ispra" towards Cadrezzate and Ispra. This road will lead you straight to the JRC Ispra entrance.

Taxi

A one-way taxi ride from Malpensa to the JRC takes about 30 minutes and costs upwards of 45 Euro. The JRC is one hour from Agno and at least one hour and 15 minutes from Linate. The journey from Orio al Serio usually takes one and a half hours, depending on traffic conditions.
