IJSDIR is a peer-reviewed journal published exclusively on line by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
The aim of this Journal is to further the scientific endeavor underpinning the development, implementation and and use of Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs).
We are committed to communicating high quality research by international SDI experts, and this includes many of our colleagues within the SDI Unit. Since its first publication in 2006 the journal has doubled in size and we are always looking for new authors.

The mission of the JRC is to provide customer-driven scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of EU policies. As a service of the European Commission, the JRC functions as a reference centre of science and technology for the Union. Close to the policy-making process, it serves the common interest of the Member States, while being independent of special interests, whether private or national.
