The Ispra train station is situated on the Luino-Novara railway line, and is served by only a few daily passenger trains.
The nearest, more frequently served, train stations are in Sesto Calende, Arona and Stresa, which are located on the transalpine Sempione/Simplon route. Many Regional, Eurocity and Cisalpino trains connect these towns on a daily basis with Italian and Swiss cities (in particular Brescia, Milan, Padue, Verona, Vicenza, Geneva and Lausanne).
Other important stations in the vicinity include Gallarate, Varese and Milan, which can be reached by making several connections.

Another possibility is to take a train to Lugano (CH) or Como (IT) and to take a taxi from there, but this is much more expensive. For more information about this option, see Swiss Railways (SBB).
