Advanced Regional SDIs Workshop

The JRC, in partnership with the Regione Lombardia, organised a workshop on Advanced Regional SDIs on 19-20 May 2008 in Ispra, Italy.
The focus of the meeting:
1) State of progress.
2) Organizational model(s) to develop the needed partnerships across agencies and sectors and to engage local authorities in the implementation and use of the SDI in the region.
3) Measurement of social and economic impacts.
The meeting was the basis for the development of a network of excellence of regions in Europe to share experiences and best practices in SDI development, also in view of the forthcoming implementation of the INSPIRE Directive. The full report of the meeting is available here.
