Martin Tuchyna

Martin, from Banska Bystrica & Slovakia is a Scientific / Technical Project Officer within the SDI Unit at the JRC.

He has a degree in Ecology (Landscape Planning), and a PhD from the Technical University of Zvolen, Slovakia.

Martin's professional history has been varied.  In the field of GIS he most recently worked as a GIS specialist and Project Manager at the Slovak Environment Agency, where he was involved in establishing an Environmental Spatial Data Infrastructure.  Prior to this he was a GIS specialist, responsible for spatial data management and GIS analysis at the Slovak Environment Agency. 

For a 6 month period between these two positions Martin moved to London where he worked as a volunteer providing support and assistance to people with physical disabilities.

Now, at the JRC Martin works within the SDI Unit developing Data Specifications for INSPIRE.  He also provides support to Theme Testing within the INSPIRE Annex.
