Maria Teresa Borzacchiello

Maria Teresa, from Naples in Italy holds a PhD in Engineering of Hydraulics, Land-use and Transportation Networks, specialising in Geographical Information Systems for Transportation and Transport Economics and Techniques.

She completed her Masters Degree in Engineering for Environment and Land Use at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2004.  During her PhD Maria Teresa specialised in Transport Economics and Techniques as the object of her academic teaching and tutorial activities.

Besides SDI for transportation, her main research interests cover the analysis, modelling and evaluation of the impacts of transportation systems and their relationships with land-use, as well as traffic data analysis and validation.

Maria Teresa is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Spatial Data Infrastructure Unit. She works on the assessment of direct and indirect cost-benefits of Spatial Data Infrastructures within the INSPIRE Action and EuroGEOSS project, to support analysis of the socio-economic impact of public sector investment in e-infrastructures.
