Cristiano Fugazza
Cristiano Fugazza, from Milan, has a Ph.D. in Computer Science.
He has worked as a web developer since 1995 for major new media agencies. After graduating, he began research into Semantic Web technologies, Ontology Engineering, and Knowledge Management at the University of Milan.
He works within the SDI Unit on semantics-aware digitization and harmonization of vocabularies for annotating GI-related web services in the context of the GENESIS FP7 project.
The mission of the JRC is to provide customer-driven scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of EU policies. As a service of the European Commission, the JRC functions as a reference centre of science and technology for the Union. Close to the policy-making process, it serves the common interest of the Member States, while being independent of special interests, whether private or national.
