Matthew Hardy

Matthew Hardy, from Cambridge in the UK, has a Master of Science Degree in Information technology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.

He previously worked as an analyst and programmer with the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC bank).

Whilst working at the EC Joint Research Centre he has been developing a project investigating IT convergence between Data Centres. This has involved using web services such as WMS, CSW and data download services using SOAP and REST.

He has since then carried out further development of the prototype Waste Data Centre portal. This was designed to help make proposals for the look-and-feel and minimum services for a future Waste Data Centre portal as part of the IT convergence between Data Centres project.

Matt is also currently testing and implementing Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) technologies to implement at corporate level for the JRC an interoperable SDI and related portal.
